The Main Tool Bar


The main tool bar provides easy access to the most commonly used functions. Some functions are not available or visible in all modes.


New Project : This clears all existing data values and resets data values to the default values.


Load Project Data : This opens the open file dialogue box to retrieve an existing project data file from disk. Only one project can be open at once. Opening a file automatically closes any already open project.


Save Project Data :  This saves the a snapshot of the current project data to disk. Previous data is overwritten. If no file is current then this button opens the Save As file dialogue box to enable a new file to be created. Note: this does not save any data or settings for future imports if importing from a planning package, that task is undertaken using save settings.


Save Imported Data Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported data so that it can be automatically imported whenever the project is re-imported. Depending upon the planning package used this button could appear as the following:


Save P6 Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported Primavera P6 .xer or .xml data file. (P3e P4, P5, P6, v7, r8, Contractor, Risk Analysis etc.)


Save PowerProject Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported TeamPlan / ASTA PowerProject .pp data file.


Save Microsoft Project Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported Microsoft Project .mpp data file.


Save CSV Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported Comma Separated data file.


Save Microsoft Excel Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported Microsoft Excel .xls file.


Save MPX Settings : This saves Time Location Specific data in a file associated with the imported Microsoft Project Exchange .mpx data file.


View Chart : This opens the View Time Location Chart Window using the current settings.


Page Setup : This opens the Print Setup window which permits setting the desired page layout, print options and for selecting the current printer.


Print : This prints the Time Location Chart to the selected printer using the current settings.


Print Preview : This opens the print preview window based on the selected printer using the current settings.


Project Note Pad : This opens the project note pad.


Find : This opens a find window permitting a text search of any selected grid column.


Spell Check : This applies a spell check to any selected text fields. Note this is only available if Microsoft Word is present on the computer.


Cut :  Applies the standard windows cut function. Note only applies to Text.


Copy :  Applies the standard windows copy function. Note only applies to Text.


Paste :  Applies the standard windows paste function. Note only applies to Text. See Edit for specific details of pasting into tables.


Undo :  Provides unlimited undo's for all project data. Note font, colour and some minor style formatting changes are not undone using this button.


Help : Opens this help file


Help Pointer : Activates a help cursor which when clicked on any item will open the help file on the associated topic.


Exit : Closes Time Location Plus.


Cascade Windows : Cascades all non-minimized Time Location Plus windows.


Tile Horizontally : Tiles all non-minimized Time Location Plus windows horizontally.


Tile Vertically : Tiles all non-minimized  Time Location Plus plus windows vertically.


The following are only applicable when the view window is open.


Draw Mode : Press to activate on screen drawing mode. When pressed again turns off on screen drawing mode. If Edit Mode is active, Edit Mode is switched off.


Edit Mode : Press to activate on screen edit mode. When pressed again turns off on screen edit mode. If Draw Mode is active, Draw Mode is switched off.


Add Text Annotation : Press to add a text annotation to the chart or into the heading area of the chart.


Add Picture Annotation : Press to add a picture annotation to the chart or into the heading area of the chart.


Add Curtain : Press to add a curtain to the chart.


Zoom Window : Activates a zoom cursor to permit selecting an area of the viewed chart to zoom into.


Zoom Out : Press to zoom the viewed chart out by 10%


Zoom In : Press to zoom the viewed chart in by 10%


Zoom Extents : Press to zoom the viewed chart to the full extents of the data.
